After struggling with string to string balance when adjusting pick up height recently, I decided to experiment with setting the string height at 2.25 mm across all 6 strings at 12 th fret. That way the height of individual strings could no way influence the output of the pickup for that string.
Contrary to expectations I really like this set up.
I like a medium high action anyway, and the output problem is sorted too.
I’ve always run a progressive decreasing string height from E to e normally 2.25 2.25 2 2 1.75 and 1.55, but will probably end up setting my other 2 up with a uniform height. Anyone else run a similar set up?

I generally keep them the same, just a hair taller on the low e so it can be spanked aggressively. What's important is that you found something that works great for you!
