Typical, just restringing my two DGT's for todays gig and the B tuner on my 2008 DGT has stopped turning :(
From a quick Google it looks like it's a common problem on the early ones, they strip ??

What's my best option guys ? get another or replace the whole lot incase they go too ?

Is it costly to replace the lot ? I'm in the UK.

Cheers

Ainsley

It's just the buttons. The early ones don't have a metal insert (I think) and can become slack. You can buy a similar set here: http://www.crazyparts.de/sports/mod...ni/schaller-m6-mini-grained-ivory-buttons.php I have some. They're a slightly different shape - more like a smaller version of the new phase III buttons - but if anything, they're even nicer than the originals.

Ah cheers for that , nice one !!

Got this reply off PRS Europe ...

Hi Ainsley
We have those tuners in stock, £129 for a set or £38 each. The problem with some of the early tuners was that the buttons would slip - if that's what yours is doing then you could just get a set of new buttons for £34. Let me know which you would prefer.
Best regards

PRS Europe would have replaced them for free if I was the original owner which I'm not, but they did give me a great discount :) excellent customer service.

All fitted and working perfectly, happy again :)

I've replaced 3 tuners on my '07 DGT. I got mine from John Mann. Something about those tuners...they go out after a while. If you can't find them in UK, go to www.mannmadeusa.com
John will hook you up!

 Great support.

It's interesting to learn of some issues that arise several years later. Some people get tired of the ever-changing features of PRS products but it's all about continual improvement, So when PRSh says that a 2015 Cu24 is a much better instrument than a 1985, this is what he means. You get all of the improvements.

I still like the winged tuners. ;)

Yeah the insides strip but the newer ones have a brass insert.

Cheers for the link but easier to get them from PRS Europe and they have good prices.
