So it is DONE at last!
And PLEASE read this first:

SO, first of all, this is a VERY long video, almost one hour!
(an award should go out to whoever sits through the whole thing actually).
I want to point a few things out first.
1.) Please watch this on YouTube, there is TONS of timeline markers that will take to
every part of this mega shootout, down to individual pickup positions used.
This so that you can skip back and forth between guitars, do not have to listen to my rambling
or noodling more than you absolutely need or want to

2.) This video is my own idea and the reasons is that I had some time on my hands with the wife
and baby daughter out of town for a few weeks. I also had access to a lot of PRS guitars, and decided to
make my first video since my daughter was born in May last year a BIG one.

Had this video been commissioned by PRS it would have been very different;
int hat it would have been way shorter, with identical clips for each guitar
(more in line with the video I made for Tesla Pickups, can be found on my channel as well).
As is I just ran with it and played what I wanted, but tried to keep it reasonably consistent between clips.
However, since the video is recorded of a long period of time, there are bound to be inconsistencies
in both playing, and to some degree, camera angles etc.

EDIT: Here is the signal path:
Guitar -> JVM Satriani head on Crunch channel in Orange mode ->
Preamp out -> Logic -> A mix of two cabs, one in the Two Notes Audio Engineering Wall of Sound III, and one made by my friend Ronnie Björnström. SM57 and Royer121 mics.

Finally, it was just a great fun vid to do, so take it for what it is. And here it is!

Grym video!(awesome video).Förstärkare?(amp)Mina favoriter är Custom 22an och MC-58an(my favs are the custom 22 and the MC-58).Lundgren pickisarna låter väldigt bra i båda gitarrerna(The Lundgren pickups sounds really good in both guitars)

Thanks Richard, I was waiting for you to upload this all week.
I will watch it tomorrow on my Samsung TV, as my Blu-Ray player has YouTube on it, and I will have more time tomorrow to view it.
Plus it will be more fun to watch it on the TV than my PC.

Great video! But where's a Custom 24? :) I really liked the McCarty's, I think the Mc58 the best! What was the signal chain of that great playing!

Vilken bra demonstration. Jag också tycker att din Mc58 är best.

Jag ser fram till din nästa video när du inkluderar en Cu24! ; - )

I really enjoyed that shootout, and watched the whole thing!

While there are differences that were evident between the guitars, there was also a certain consistency of sound that was interesting. I agree with your comments at the end as well.

For me as a player, there's a certain exquisite feel of the US PRS models that has spoiled me, and for recording (which is what I mainly do), there's a certain clarity to the tone that is hard to duplicate on the imports that might be down to wood sourcing. So I use the term 'spoiled' because that's what I no doubt am.

For playing out, I'd absolutely rock an S2 or SE happily, so I wouldn't have to worry as much about theft or damage in transit.

That was just amazing. I agree with pretty much everything you said in the end too. Having said that, and even with all of the other stuff in your chain, the MC58 really stood out to me.

Playing was incredible of course!

I thought the MC58 stood out a lot, too! And yeah, the playing. Wow.

Very nice Richard.. I remember coming across your video for the SAS Narrowfield when I was contemplating one and found it to be the only helpful video on it, keep it up!

Thank you for taking the time to do this video, I think it is excellent. I like McCarty 58 the best, but I also like the P22. I agree with everything you said.

Absolutely fantastic job. Thanks for putting the time and effort into it. I have checked out the P22, Cu22 and MC 58. Will watch more tomorrow!

I had it kind of cranked up yesterday while watching it on my TV, and my neighbors know I play guitar and have heard my amp before when turned up a bit.
They told me yesterday my playing sounded very good, and I had to laugh and tell them it was not me, but you Richard.

thanks for all the comments guys, appreciate it! Makes it feel the work was worth the time it took :hello:
And yes LSchefman, I do plan to bring the Myers with to future performances in China and Japan in particular,
since I'm always kinda worried about having to check the instrument in on those flights. And, if something were to
happen to the guitar, either in transit or on location; it would be a lot easier to replace financially!

CoreyT: haha, that's comment gold right there :congrats:
He he, I told my son the same thing yesterday when he stopped by for a bit.

Hey, do you have a webpage for your band?
I read that you tour, so you have a group then?

PS, checked out your page a bit here before I have to start work.
