So it is DONE at last!
And PLEASE read this first:
SO, first of all, this is a VERY long video, almost one hour!
(an award should go out to whoever sits through the whole thing actually).
I want to point a few things out first.
1.) Please watch this on YouTube, there is TONS of timeline markers that will take to
every part of this mega shootout, down to individual pickup positions used.
This so that you can skip back and forth between guitars, do not have to listen to my rambling
or noodling more than you absolutely need or want to
2.) This video is my own idea and the reasons is that I had some time on my hands with the wife
and baby daughter out of town for a few weeks. I also had access to a lot of PRS guitars, and decided to
make my first video since my daughter was born in May last year a BIG one.
Had this video been commissioned by PRS it would have been very different;
int hat it would have been way shorter, with identical clips for each guitar
(more in line with the video I made for Tesla Pickups, can be found on my channel as well).
As is I just ran with it and played what I wanted, but tried to keep it reasonably consistent between clips.
However, since the video is recorded of a long period of time, there are bound to be inconsistencies
in both playing, and to some degree, camera angles etc.
EDIT: Here is the signal path:
Guitar -> JVM Satriani head on Crunch channel in Orange mode ->
Preamp out -> Logic -> A mix of two cabs, one in the Two Notes Audio Engineering Wall of Sound III, and one made by my friend Ronnie Björnström. SM57 and Royer121 mics.
Finally, it was just a great fun vid to do, so take it for what it is. And here it is!
