You are saying that you could NOT get a 2005 PRS CU22 with Standard bird inlay?

The OP is true. The anniversary birds were an extra option. Moons were standard and either style of birds was available for an up charge.

All three could be purchased. The 20th Anni birds were a package option as garrett said. Guitars without the package had a truss rod cover that had 20th engraved but not painted. The 20th Anni package had the 20th painted white so it stood out. many people try to sell a 2005 guitar adding that it is a 20th Anni guitar and I guess technically it is, but without the optional package (and birds) it isn't a 20th Anni IMO.

When I bought my McCarty used, I didn't know it was a so called "20"anniversary until I saw the 20th engraved on the truss rod cover. You can only see it if your close up and looking for it.
