A tale of two McCarty pup swaps...

My 22’ DC 594 has the 58/15 LT+ pickups in it. I love the clarity of the neck pickup. I’m still monkeying around with the bridge to find it’s sweet spot.

No, I purchased it secondhand from Reverb. I actually didn’t even know that it had the +s’ in it. Looking at the solder joints, my guess is that they’re aftermarket.

Sometimes DC had the +. It's not often but it happens. PRS has played with various iterations of the 5815LT over the years and models.

As an aside, when I went to Dave’s in LaCrosse a few weeks ago, I stopped at 608 Brewing just down the road and found a few nice IPA’s. So I came home with a few 4 packs of tallboys along with a vintage Martin from Dave’s. It was a fine day. Almost made me want to book a hotel so I could take an Uber to the brewery and get D-runk and hang on the Mississippi and play guitar all day.

Good question.
Here's the deal so far...
I'm a big fan of the 58/15 LT pups, and I absolutely love them in the SC. It became my number one.
Putting them in my McCarty was a big win, and they'll stay there.
The + pups are also excellent. I like them a lot. That said I would have been just as happy buying a 58/15 LT set for the McCarty and leaving the SC stock. Do I regret doing this? No way, but if anyone buys a recent 594 SC with stock pickups they will NOT be disappointed, at all!
