This was on my doorstep when I came home today (SE HBII) - I don’t know why or how, it was a total surprise. I’ll share the details if/when I get them.
There was that card that says ’…it’s a new instrument but we hope it soon feels like an old t-shirt.‘ When I picked this thing up I started getting tingles in every nerve ending in my body, as if a something missing had just been returned to me. I’d never felt anything like that before. This is the guitar I was meant to have. I'm still processing the emotions but so happy, grateful, inspired, and stoked!

Congrats, bought myself a used one in black gold this week. Really impressed by the quality of it, be it sound or fit and finish.
Amazing guitar.

Beautiful guitar - and I must say, while I consider myself among the fortunatest of the fortunate, a thing like that has never happened to me.

A new guitar...which hits every button on the console...inexplicably and magically appearing? Man.

You MUST tell the story. Surely you have some suspicions...

Thanks everyone! I still can't believe it.

This must be what it's like being a parent, lol! They both resemble their mother, but one is loud, raw, and full of personality while the other is balanced, refined, and quick. The Artist and the Engineer. They feel and play very different but I love them both.

The crazy thing is, earlier this week I was thinking about bucket list kind of things, and at the top of the list is playing more music. I only have one guitar so I was honestly considering going to see if a used SE HB Standard was still at the music shop. And that one is loud, woody, and raw with a chunky neck just like the one that came yesterday!

I don't know if this was a mistake or not, but if I really get to keep this guitar I don't think I'll change a thing.

It's funny that they don't look so different in this picture, but I get a very different feeling when I look at them. The Artist has more definition in the figuring, especially in the maple binding. The binding seems more crisp, the finish seems shinier and more invisible. When I look at it and pick it up, my subconscious says "this is the one." And it's really loud, harmonic, resonant, and light like I'd expect a hollow guitar to be. It also makes me appreciate the Engineer even more - it's not as loud or harmonic, it's heavier, the figuring is a little more muted, but it sounds balanced and clean and plays very technical.
