Sounds pretty good! Just out of curiousity, does it take a long time to program the bass, drums and other sounds? I'm not asking for a full detailed explaination, just wondering about it.
Actually, I can work on this stuff pretty quickly and as we are doing more, I'm gaining speed on completing this stuff.
I know you didn't ask for a lengthy reply...but to explain, lemme ramble for a bit.
First..we are multitracking our entire practice into Presonus Studio One and the Video into OBS at the same time. The longest times are the "rendering" of files and uploading to Youtube...typically up to 2 hr files.
For audio, we are using 6 mono tracks - 1. Korg drums out of the keyboard -2. Vocals - 3 and 4 for stereo keys (rather than one stereo track, as I might want to deal with the left and right separately in post production).. and 5 and 6 for the guitar in stereo as well.
Once in Studio One, it is very easy to "snip out a portion" like for a smaller video such as this one.
Then I add a bass, typically in one take since I know the song and played the guitar..and maybe a punch in here and there...10 minutes tops...since this is a 7 min song.
Then I add some fluff to the beginning with the synth...but you can hear where my guitar comes in with the pad sounds, about 30 seconds in.
The rest is just some creative mixing...Oh...since the Korg drums were basically just kick and snare...I added in some fills...but those are the live sounding drums, less fills.
So...to answer your question, I spend about an hour after our base recording with adding some extra junk and the mixing.
Lastly...on the same Youtube channel, I'm uploading the full practice...this was about a 1hr 45min video...so you can compare a "before and after" if you so desire. These two songs where about 9 minutes into the LONG video, uploaded just before this on the Youtube page.
OH>>and important... and I'm asking your guys help. Youtube requires 50 subscribers before we become eligible for live streaming, which we are gearing up to do. We only have about 25 subs now...small channel, eh?..
So we would REALLY APPRECIATE new subscribers. You don't need to hit the notifications and all that..but you do need to create a Google account (which many resist doing) so you can subscribe to other channels and make comments on videos.
VERY MUCH APPRECIATED> this is THE TOP forum that I post in and get the best advice and by far the friendliest forum I visit. I won't mention others...but some are just down right nasty or a bunch of kids that haven't grown up yet... but that's a discussion for another day
BIG THANKS !!!!
