A lot of things to like about the Sonzera 20

Affordable, nice clean tones available, decent headroom and portable enough. It would be perfect for my uses if it had a XLR out. Wonder if that will be something they offer in the future?

I wouldn’t expect an XLR out - PRS are “purists” where amps are concerned, they’ve not been known to pack additional tech into any of their amps.

Then again, I’ve been wrong before.
I get that. I'm a purist in regard my amps too for the most part. I do like the idea of controlling stage volume by going direct and the aspects of cab simulation for some applications. Really valuable in worship situations.

If that's what you're after, you may be best off getting a load box and IR loader solution - OX Box, Captor X, TAE, etc., and then you can use just about any amp that way. Sounds like you're aware of the trend of most churches really clamping down on stage volume. I've not been playing at church for the last couple of years for a variety of reasons, but I wouldn't dream of going back to it without my Torpedo setup.

Exactly. When playing bass I could get away with a good DI to the board but guitar, as you know, is a different animal.

Agreed. I used it many times in a local shop. The 20 has kinda vintage chime on channel 1 with really sweet spring reverb while surprisingly has incredibly modern distortion tone on channel 2. Yes, I did say modern.

To me it feels like having sort of 2-in-1 amp. And believe me or not, despite considering myself a high gain guitar player, I prefer the tonal characteristics of Sonzera 20 over MT15 for having more highs, more clarity, and more open sounding plus far better clean tone, while providing honestly sufficient gain for general rock music application.
