A few questions regarding SE Paul's guitar...

Just bought one!

1. In the store, it appeared their SE Custom 22 had a much thicker body than Paul's guitar - is that right? (It was not a signature model, definitely a regular sunburst Custom 22)

2. All the web pages say the SE Paul's guitar has a rosewood fingerboard, but mine looks very light, like Pao Ferro. ????

3. Compared to the two US Custom 24's I've owned and the SE Custom 24 I owned, this Paul's guitar seems WAY lighter (that's good!)...did I just luck out and get a light one, or is it chambered, or what?

Inquiring minds, etc....

Thanks!

Mine has a Rosewood finger board with a line of sap wood running all down the treble side. Looks really cool. It is a light guitar. It is as not as thick as my 245 or 594 and about the same as my Santana.

Enjoy that axe, its got tons of sounds in it!

We need pictures because we love looking at guitars!

As a fellow PG SE owner, I'll try my hand...

1. I never noticed any difference from a Custom to a PG on body thickness. I think the 245 is slightly thicker, if my memory is correct. Maple cap looks the same on both, in fact I didnt know till recently that the carve on the PG and 35th too I guess is slightly different to the Customs. Supposed to bring us closer to the violin carve on the cores than any SE has before. Pretty cool!

2. Oh yes, its Rosewood...Indian perhaps, hard to say. Rosewood stock can vary in color here and there, I've seen some really dark lots, some lighter. Pau Ferro, to me anyway, seems to be consistently lighter with more...variance of color on the grain. For what its worth, I like Pau Ferro. Its a bit harder than general Rosewood, and very pretty.

3. They are definitely not chambered. I've seen some just a hair under 7lbs, I've seen some a hair over 8lbs. Its luck of the draw really and based probably around the density of the particular lot of wood that went into that guitar, so I'd say you won the PG lottery with this one!
