A Brisk Jaunt

Having left the galaxy with my last little orchestral number, I came back and took a quick jaunt around the Solar System.

Another after-dinner project to (one hopes) keep the brain engaged and creative! Kind of makes evenings fun.

I love the staccato sections sandwiching the airy piece in the middle, gives it a great sense of movement. The oboes are a great touch that adds a lot of timbral interest and character to me!

Once I had the basic string idea down, the piece almost wrote itself, and came together quickly.
