One thing I have noticed about the push-pulls is that if the pot is at the end of its range (on 10), it is much harder to pull up than if it is rolled down just a bit. Either there is some mechanical friction that creates this, or I always imagine it. Everyone give it a try and let me know if I am delusional.
It might keep you from having to gunk up the knob with tape if I am right and you don’t mind a little rollback with your upward pull.
