Hello,

I'm new here and I'm kinda new to the PRS world. I'm currently eyeing on a used 1998 Swamp Ash special that's being offered to me by a friend for $1000. I can't decide whether I get it or get an S2 Standard. Note that I'm based in the Philippines and we don't have a PRS dealership here. Only SE's. No Core, CE and S2's. My only resort is shipping. I need advice from you guys. Please enlighten me. Thank you very much! :)

Depending on the condition and details, the Swamp Ash Special is a very special guitar and US$1K is a very good price. That'd be the way I lean.

That said, I don't understand why you'd get a S2 standard if you only have SEs available to you, or is that one used, too?

Thanks for the replies. :) SAS is near mint. Very light buckle rash. I would have someone ship the S2 here in PH if ever but it seems like the SAS is a better choice. :)

Both are good options, but if you have to have one shipped into the country instead of trying a variety in stores, I think a well-respected and versatile Core line instrument like the SAS is the best bet. Especially if it's coming from a friend. :)

Agree 100%. If you like the SAS, go for it.

Thanks for all your replies. Here's a pic of the SAS. :)
