94 cu24 or newer 09 cu24

what should I buy?. Both guitars in great shape. The 94 is Whale blue with gold hardware . The 09 is bluish green. Whatever that is. Both have a paperwork and cases. I'm leaning towards the 94.

Personally, I'd go with the '09 if prices are comparable.

What pickups do they have?

Well, this is a tough choice. The 94 will have a bit more "vintage vibe" (at least as far as any PRS can claim that) because it was made less than a decade after the company started. But! PRS is very well known for stepping up their game, tiny bit by tiny bit, over the years, and many people [who?] are of the opinion that a newer version of a guitar will in general be better.

Is one a 10 top and the other not? Do you like the look of one over the other?

As Michael_DK hinted at: the biggest differential may be the pickups installed. You might like/want one over the other.

Neither are 10 tops. As for pickups, both have factory standard pickups. I like the 94 because the vibe. It's a very clean guitar with all the original paperwork and candy. and the whale blue is what I really wanted. Both selling for the same price. I can't play or see the either till it shows up at my door.

I think both models have the HFS/VB pickup combo.

The neck profiles might be different on each.

I think they switched late '92 / early '93. I had a '93 Standard that had the two-piece, unMannly trem.

Cant go wrong unless one has the neck profile that you prefer.

If it was me, I'd take the 94. I love that year of the custom 24, super solid. Looks like my 96 royal blue, of course mine faded alot over the years. Either or, both are great guitars.
