85/15 vs 59/09

Has anyone played enough through both to offer a fair comparison? Looking for modern, high gain tone comparisons mainly. Dealer stock in both is kinda light from the looks of it. I can find hfs/vb all over the place.

Not side-by-side, but I've tried several CU24's with 59/09's. None of them ever floated my boat. It was love at first play with the 30th CU24 with 85/15s. Can't say that I'm a modern high gain aficionado though. On a related topic, does anybody know if the electronics in the 30th is different than in regular CU24s? The thing seems to respond differently (better for my tastes) with rolled off volume and tone, and I'd be surprised if it were all to do with the pickups.
