Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum. My dream guitar has always been a PRS Custom 24 08 with 85/15 pickups. However due to the recent changes in the model, the new TCI pickups are holding me back in ordering one.
I would like to know if the 85/15 pickups can be directly swap the TCI pickups that comes with PRS Core Custom 24 08, without the need of drilling.
I know that the TCI pickups are slimmer than the 85/15. I'm really just concerned if I need to do wood work to get it fitted.
I am aware the the CU24 08 Pre 2023 have 85/15 in them rather than the TCI. However, there are only new models in my local shop. My only option that I can think of at the moment is to buy a Pre 2023 models or the 35th anniversary from the used market, without going private stock.
If you have other better solutions or options for my needs, I would like to hear more of it. I know its ridiculous to buy a new core PRS then immediately replacing the pickups, which is not cost effective. However, I'm not sure if I can still order a CU2408 with 85/15.
Your insights are all welcome. Thank you in advance.
