7 String non SE Wanted

Does anyone know where I would go about finding a 7 string or baritone non SE model?

Private Stock is your only non-SE option. They're out there in low numbers if you can find one. Other than that it's a PS build for you.

Yup, and by low numbers, we're talking close to big-foot sighting low numbers(maybe not that bad, but close). So you're likely gonna pay a bunch because it's either a private stock or artist made guitar.

They're were a couple Private Stock 7's floating around eBay for the longest time. One was really unique in that it had a reverse spitz headstock with Phase II's tuners. Both were going for $8000+.





Obviously very very difficult and not practical to get ahold of one of these. Even Mark from Periphery and Aaron Marshall from Intervals have SE 7's but they are customized to their specs at the Maryland factory so nothing you could buy in a store straight out but definitely could be upgraded as such. I've got a black SE 7 that was customized at the Maryland factory with upgraded wiring, USA nut, locking tuners, custom headstock. One of the best 7's I've every owned. As good if not better than my MM JP7.

If you dont mind me asking? How much was that headstock refinish? I always thought about sending my SE7 to the PTC for a refinish of just the headstock but never really knew how much it would be.

I don't know what it would have been individually but I got the guitar for $1200 with the headstock refinish and parts all together. Pretty sweet considering parts alone would have been $700+ outside.
