59/09's vs McCarty's, how similar are they?

I keep thinkng i need to retry McCarty bridge PU. Leave LT neck but drop stock McCarty bridge in it.

Most common complaint that I hear about McCarty PUs is they're too dark. Well I think most of the bridge PUs I've tried in my McCarty are too
you know i read that alot that people think the McCarty pickups are dark. I don't think so at all. Now i will say all my other guitars are loaded with much higher output pickups which are much brighter than the McCarty pickups. But I keep my McCarty wired up for a more low output (classic) tone, and I have never found myself thinking they are too dark. they kinda fall into that just right for what i am looking for in the guitar category. as i previously stated, i just wish they were a touch higher output.

I'm thinking their "dark" is my just right?

I guess I should mention that a covered 5909 would be nice to find. .
I have a dark nickel set of 5909s but that would look weird against plain nickel LT.
Good luck finding a covered 59/09 set I tried ended up buying a uncovered round bobbin set and putting covers on them , if you have a darker sounding guitar 59/09s and Miras are killer pickups , I LOVE the McCarty set I have in my CU22
