58/15 Pups - Feedback/Squealing

I'm loving my new McCarty with 58/15 pups. But, I've found the bridge pup goes into squeal mode very quickly as soon as I'm at any decent volume (i.e., home loud). Using a 20W Blackstar HT Studio tube amp - happens either on the crunch channel or on the clean channel with a distortion pedal.

Since I'm playing at home, I'm relatively close to my amp. But, never experienced this with any of my other guitars. I assume that these pups are wax-potted, but is it a very light potting (to maintain the vintage feel)? Anyone else experience this with 58/15's? Cures?

I’ve had a McCarty with 58/15s and a 594 with the 58/15 LTs. No problems, and I record at high volume. I generally play about 10-15 feet from my amps, but I’ve been a lot closer with no issues.
