Does anyone have 57/08s in a CE24? The 85/15s in my 2019 CE24 are not cutting it. I love the overtones I get with the 57/08s I have in my Mira Korina and my MC58. The 57/08 neck pickup has the breathiness of a single with the power of a humbucker. The 57/08 Treble pickup has balls without being plucky or overly bright when played clean. In a nutshell, 57/08s are like single coils on steroids without the hum. They have clarity combined with balls.

I’ve done both. While I like the 85/15 set in my Custom 22, I found them way too shrill/bright in the two CE24s that I’ve owned - likely due to the maple bolt on neck. Either will give you more warmth and lose the shrillness in line with other PAF-inspired pickups. The 59/09 will give a bit more gain, but similar tone. I chose the 59/09 set over the 57/08 for the reclaimed CE24 to maintain the look of the uncovered squabbins
