Anyone done a shoot out?
Thoughts??
I love the 59/09s in Mahogany, Indian Rosewood and even a flamed maple Baritone neck

Do the 53/10s lend themselves better to one neck or the other?

Thanks guys

I've owned two different guitars with each, so my assessment is one of generalities.

The 50/09's are, as many have said, like a warmed up PAF type. Good punch and output with a somewhat vintage flavor. Many love them, but I found them uninspiring.

OTOH. the 53/10's rang the bell loudly for me. Way more in the PAF/vintage tone camp with great definition and harmonic content. The cleans are sparkling and full of life, yet they also sound great and maintain definition all gained up. Easily my favorite PRS set; I have them in my PS and even bought one of the last sets around while they were still available for future placement.
