hey everyone. long time player/collector here. bought a 513 and im in love with it. modded with additional 3 tones via a push/pull pot. i did notice something and im curious if any other 513 owners have/had this as well. ive noticed that the bridge pickup when in modern/overwound positions has a pretty nasal-y sound to it. im running just a JHS Bonsai and keeley compressor and thats it. it almost sounds like i have a wah wah clicked on and slightly rocked back. not sure if this is normal. every other position sounds amazing. i have a special 22 as well but no issue while in bridge humbucking position. let me know if you guys want a sound clip.
thank you!

My first PRS was a 513. It was very cool but not the one for me. Anyway I also don't recall it being nasal sounding in any mode. IMO it was maybe a touch sterile/hi-fi, almost sounding like active pickups. So I would def double check the wiring and make sure it's all correct.

I have owned 3 513s, and my current 513 Rosewood has been modded by the PTC with a push/pull to activate both the bridge and neck pickups at the same time. I have never found the full humbucking sounds to be nasally.

I had a Vibrolux , I seem to remember some of that happening with the 513 and that amp.
Amp is gone ;)
Ill try the 513 tonight but I live on the bridge pickup going between the modes on that guitar

Been debating going to an orange amp. Let me know how it sounds! I’m wondering if maybe the JHS bonsai might make it worse as well. I also tried my music man cutlass with a DiMarzio in the bridge position and that has a similar tone.

I just got a Klon Clone that has an interesting thing going on in the mids , but yea the 10" speakers on the Vibrolux ( and no mid control ) make the Vibrolux an interesting beast , I do have one recording playing not so great no pedals just an attenuator

I’m wondering if a EQ pedal would help. Also wondering if putting an orange drop capacitor in there would help…….waiting on PCT to get back to me
