Why isn't there a dislike button?

World is full of hatred, but it would be politically incorrect to "dislike" something. ;)

I subscribe to a sports site that has like/dislike buttons. Currently, they show the cumulative total, but in the past they've shown the separate totals. Believe me when I say this - you can't believe what crybabies some of these people can be. "Why am I getting downvoted? What's wrong with you people? Must be just a bunch of haters here." Because someone disliking my comment on an Internet site is going to send me into a spiral of despair that not everyone agrees with me.

I'm just getting my sense of taste back from biting my tongue over one incident. It involved a report about a sexual abuse case, and one guy said, "Why aren't the details in this story about what exactly this guy did? We need to know this so we can protect young people in these situations." Never mind that the details were available all over the place, in graphic detail, and they were quite distasteful. When his comment got downvoted (including by me), he immediately started lashing out - "What, are you people supporting this guy? Are you all perverts?" Yeah, those of us NOT asking for the details are the perverts.

We've had several people freak out on here because they criticized something about a guitar or a service question and didn't get blanket support. A dislike button would likely send some of them over the edge.
