Hi guys. New here and looking for a little advice or input. I'm trading in one of my Les Pauls for another PRS. I currently have a maple top Mira which is dual HB, coil split and 24 frets...which I think would be more similar than dissimilar to a Cust 24......plus being that I'm more of a short scale 22 fret guy, I'm looking at either a 2014 408 or a 2012 P22. Can I get you guys input on which you prefer, like better and why etc.? Not sure I'd care or use the piezo much. Thanks much.

If you're not going to use the piezo, then for all practical purposes the guitar is a Custom 22. Different from your Mira, to be sure, but still the Mira will be closer to a CU22 than it will be to a 408.

The split coil sounds on the 408 are beyond wonderful, and they don't sound like the coil splits on the Mira or the CU22, IMHO.

So if you want different, go with the 408.

Thanks chefman........it's on hold, just have to go pick her up. Here is my Mira. I'll post some pics of the 408 soon.

Well, the P22 has a McCarty thickness body as well. Either way, the 408 is more different for sure.

Sweet guitars that Mira is one of the better ones I have seen and the color you picked on the 408

Sounds like you're all set with the decision. I have a Signature Limited with 408s and a P22. As Les said, 408's are fantastic, and the pic of the one you're getting looks beautiful. You won't be disappointed I'm sure. Still though, I think that you'd find that a 2012 P22 (which likely has 53/10s in it) would have been pretty dissimilar to your Mira as well. Split tones out of it are special (but different than the 408.)

Congrats, and welcome to Club 408! Awesome guitars. I think you'll be quite pleased - my 408 handles everything I throw at it.
