Well guys, today marks exactly 365 days since the delivery guy handed me a brown box full of joy..no it wasn't porn...it was way better than that! Yup, that's the day I got my first PRS and officially started my journey down the rabbit hole...seems like there might have been some "kool-aid" somebody handed me...or it may have just been a flashback from my misspent youth..I dunno..but I liked it!

Anyway, just over a year ago I decided I needed this to keep my mind occupied, challenge myself, to focus, and get some much needed stress relief. So I orderd my first PRS. On 8/17/17 I got my very first guitar and my life canged forever. I have spent more hours praticing and pushing myself through the process than anything I have ever done. Sure I still suck, my figertips have calluses that have their own calluses and they are as dead as Abe Lincoln, my wife hates me more than ever, I have regained a bunch of dexterity and lmproved my range of motion. I am able to move a shoulder that I was supposed to be frozen in place permanently. My stress level and blood pressure are way down now compared to a year ago, I can assure you that's not because life was a cake walk during this last year either!

All this being said, here's the take away for me...The thing I cherish the most about the last year besides playing, are the friendships that I've formed with y'all! For real, you guys have inspired me to get better, given great advice, encouragement and more gut laughs than should be allowed in a lifetime! Not one time have you guys given me $h!t for my lack of experience or knowledge and never made me feel anything but welcone and encouraged...well exept for that one a$$hat that I put on blast and then perma- ignore...there's always THE a$$hat guy.

So! Here's to another year full of good times, good friends and lots and lots guitar porn! WOO HOO! Thanks to all of you for being such a great group of friends and mentors...for that I am forever grateful.

Cheers!

Scott, I can honestly say that a year ago I never thought I would be trading insults with a guy like you.

You are a gent and a true gem! What you see is what you get!

After the sh!tty times that you’ve gone through after your crash, you deserve to be happy and healthy and it’s great to know that music has done it for you. This shows its true positivity and therapeutic value.

Keep doing what you’re doing brother!

Here’s to the next one or maybe five!;)

It’s been a full year? Feels more like 7 or 8!!!

Congrats, man. No matter where you end up with the instrument, it’s all about the ride.

IKR!? It really does! Indeed it is! Indeed it is! I figure, since I'm alredy here... I might as well keep plugging along...these "lightbulb moments" are happening more and more often and man are they addicting! Thanks Alantig!

Thanks man! I can't of one other kilt wearing, Haggis eating brother I would rather trade insults with!

Back at ya man! I really appreciate the kind words my friend! It has been, and if I have a say in it, will continue to be an ever evolving process. The challenge of the journey and good friends like yourself, are the most rewarding part of all! Sounds like a great foundation to build upon!

5?!!! Dude I know I'm old but 5?!!! o_OYeah, 5 is a safe bet with the redhead...hmm, come to think of it...5 might be a bit too optimistic, lets just say heres to..surviving the next NGD! We'll see how that goes...yeah, that sounds better...well, it sounds less delusional anyway...

Bud, there are very few places on the intarwebby that are as safe and accepting as here. Glad you made your way here! And part of being part of a group like this is never having to say “thanks”. Every one of us feels the same way.

Now, plop another pic of your beauty up here to refresh our memories (‘cause we’re old too). :D

Time flies! Glad you’ve found a great form of stress relief! I appreciate the positive energy and humor you bring here. 2018 has been brutal for me but hanging out around here and getting some time in on the guitars has helped me quite a bit as well!

Oh, and I still need to try one of those CR models, but I want one of those Kentucky Blue models they only did in the UK a few years back :)

Best thing you can do for your shoulder is get a bar you can hang from. Just hang as long as your grip holds each morning.

P90s rock

Slacker.
Give Bodia and Sergio your number if you need help catching up.

Guilty as charged...I am a perpetual under achiever...if I would only apply myself...trust...bodia has done a fine job of casually yet effectively getting my G.A.S to fully engage! He's the Yoda of enablers...

Man I wish...there was so much damage the best they could do to save it was leave it in a dislocated position...the gap you see there is how I'm stuck indefinitely...only option is a complete shoulder replacement...I'm just thankful that it is still attached and that I can still use it at all. Thanks for the suggestion though...but chances are I would hit the floor and my arm would be dangling from the bar:eek:

Disclaimer- may be disturbing to some viewers....especially if they are little girly men..

Multiple thoughts on all your posts.
1) your guitar matches your eyes. Red and black. Perfect!
2) I am so glad you came here. And while we’re boys and all, it’s just as much because I’m no longer the most whacknut person here any more. And I can’t thank you enough for that.
3) Dude! That shoulder makes my toes hurt!!! Holy crap.
4) Re: #3, I guess you weren’t kidding when you said “no more monkey sex” after the accident. Now I know why you had to take the trapeze out of the bedroom. That really sucks. Can I borrow it?
5) It just occurred to me, that you won’t see any of this if you’re blocking me, as you said above. :(

What? You’re the one providing everyone with the gut laughs!

Great to hear things are looking up! And thank you for such a celebratory thread! I share in the six string happiness too. Dived nose in, sunken without a trace, have not yet surfaced for a breath of air, may not be planning to, can’t tell where I start and the guitars end.

All the best to you Sir!

I think it’s fair to say that we’re the “Three Amigos”, something that no one can take away!

The shoulder looks like something from “Alien vs Predator”!!
