Hi guys, does anybody know the difference between the 30th anniversary S2 CU24s & the 2015 S2 CU24s. Up to now I know that one difference is the double bird inlay on the 12th fret on the 30th Anniversary models.
I also believe the truss rod covers are different but this is all just aesthetics. Does anybody think buying an anniversary model is worth the extra cash, are these anniversary models better built? Its the S2s I'm reffering to.
Take this with a grain of salt, but having played both the original line of S2 24s and the 30 Anny 24s, I find that the 30th Anny's are more comfortable. Not sure if they're just making the S2s a little better than what they were at first or maybe it's just in my head

Hey drdoom8793, Thanks for your input, I've yet to play a S2 30th Anny 24 but played on a Non-Anny S2 24; the pattern regular neck felt great. Was it the neck that felt more comfortable to you on the S2 Anny 24? I know they both have the same neck profiles but maybe the Anny models are different in some way!?

I'm pretty sure that on paper, the only difference between them is aesthetic, as these guys have said.
However, the 30th Anny just seemed a bit more lively to me. It was more comfortable and the pickups sounded better than the non-anny, which sounded a bit dull to me. These differences can be explained away by simply calling it differences from one guitar to the other, but if it were me, I'd buy the anny, just to have a piece of PRS history. However, I wasn't aware of a price difference between the non anny and the anny models. Sweetwater has them both for the same price.
