Hi guys,

I'm after some advice / previous experiences if possible...

I've been wanting to get a 2nd delay pedal for a while now but am having real trouble deciding which one.

Anyone here run 2 delay pedals? If so, what are they and was there any particular reasons for the choices?

I have the TC Electronic Flashback already, but I only have one Boss size pedal space left - although this somewhat limits my choices, I might consider kicking pedals off to accommodate a bigger delay pedal, especially if it has tap tempo but still runs 9v.

Pedals that crossed my mind so far: MXR Carbon Copy / TC Alter Ego V2 / Wampler Faux Tape Echo

Many thanks.

Catalinbread Belle Epoch sounds sick if you're after tape echo...I want one bad. No tap though.

The Eventide H9, because it can do a lot more than delay - it does every single Eventide stomp box algorithm and a few new ones, plus you can control it and edit it not only from the pedal itself, but from an iPhone or iPad.

Just a freaking awesome pedal. And not only tap tempo on the pedal, but also from the phone or tablet.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've looked at all of them and decided I defo want a tape delay but still want the tap tempo. I like the look of the Strymon El Capistan the only things making me hesitate are the price and how you access the secondary controls and the lack of visibility setting wise.

dude, synergetic post. i too have a flashback and am considering adding a second delay. i also have real estate issues on my board, and not free power source on the voodoo.

I used to run the Flashback along with an Ibanez AD99. The AD99 is true analog and has a superb warmth to it. It was on my board from 1996 or '7 through 2013. I used it for short slap back and the Flashback for longer stuff. I love the Analog with Mod setting on the Flashback.

I traded them out for the Flashback X4 so I could take advantage of the presets and tap tempo. The AD99 is a pretty big pedal, so the ginormous box of the X4 didn't bother me. I still have the AD99. I like running it in the effects loop when I plug straight in.

The Alter Ego could be cool since it's kind of the same thing as the Flashback, but with some exclusive sounds. A friend just got the Belle Epoch. I'll have to ask for a tone report. He's had a bunch of different delays come and go, so he knows the good stuff.

Oh for tight space, there's the Flashback Mini. Beam whatever TonePrint to it for the voicing you want, and it does the whole strum-tempo-sync thing like its big brother.

TC just released a tripple delay which is three separate delays in one pedal...could give that a try, just pull off the old one.

I have a Boss DD-20 which does 5 preset delay with tap and BPM. I love it - had a flashback and sold it.

i broke down and got the Flashback X4. ooooooo, mama. worth remodeling the pedalboard....

I have two of those, the full size one, and the smaller one for the bass board.
Very nice pedals.

TC is releasing a newer delay soon, it has three built in delays that can be run at the same time.
