I am gonna buy a 20th Anny Custom 24. I have been shopping around and it seems that they are all reasonably priced. Is there anything I should know about these guitars? It seems like I am getting a great deal, but I wonder why I can find so many so reasonably priced. Seems like a 20th Anny would hold more value...curious.

Nothing you "need" to know about them specifically. Other than the 20th anni birds fuggin' rock! Holding value is really just relative to the current market, which right now is garbage. In the long, long term maybe they will be more collectible - but you may not see that reflection unless you are fairly young. They aren't rare by any means, it's a whole year+ worth of guitars produced. I still would like one someday, purely for the birds. I would find one that you like a lot and just go with it.

Vchizzle pretty much nailed it. They are pretty numerous and reasonably priced....which is great if you are looking for one! As said, the coolest feature is the 20th inlay, which looks just killer. If you can spend the extra bread, I would recommend grabbing one of the artist packages. Most that I have seen have great tops and they came with Brazilian rosewood fret boards. My 20th anny AP SC (which looks a lot like vchizzles avatar), is probably my go-to guitar overall!

This 20th Anny guitar DOES NOT HAVE THE FLYING BIRDS!!! Is is a fake?

No....it just wasn't ordered with the 20th Anniversary Package which included the 20th Birds in Flight, Sliver etched TR cover and Brazilian board and headstock overlay.. All guitars ordered in 2005 were 20th Anniversary guitars.

I checked it out already....it's nothing special other than it was made in 2005. It's NOT a 20th Anniversary Package guitar so don't pay a premium for it!

So it is not the "Artist" package? I just want a nice PRS for a fair price. Seems like this is a great deal if it is in near new condition...

Near mint, what is it worth?

It's worth what you are willing to pay for it. That's the short answer. For me personally, it isn't worth what he is asking. There is nothing different about that guitar and a 2004 or 2006. I would look for one that has the 20th Anni birds if I want to commemorate the 20th year of production. Like has already been said, I picked a 20th Anni Artist Package. If any model is going to be worth more later (probably much later), it will be that one IMO.

My 20th Anni AP was very close to what he is asking for the one you are looking at and mine has the paua signature inlay/brazillian overlay headstock, brizillian board, 20th anni paua birds, killer top, gold hardware, and happens to have flame mahogany in the neck. It's the third one in, leaning against the amp.

I just researched the crap out of Custom 24 prices. That's not a bad price.

You could probably snag a near mint custom 24 for $2000 on the bay, or maybe less on CL. But thats up to you. Maybe there's something about this guitar that speaks to you specifically? But if you just want a nice CU24, I'd keep looking.

Due to unusual circumstances, I was able to get my brand new CU24 from GC for less than that....

and not to crap on that guitar, because it is a great looking guitar, there's nothing that I can tell that makes it a 10 top... I've seen other non-10 tops look just as good as that, and I've seen other 10 tops that look way better. But again - thats all just my opinion, and I still think that's a sweet lookin axe.

here are some other sweet ones:
