Greetings All!
I apologize for the pedestrian question - but - for 2019 what are the significant differences between SE 245 and SE 245 Standard ?
Looking for the bang/buck PRS LP style guitar.
I’m just a novice/noodler - with a (killer!) Squire CV Butterscotch Tele. ;-)

Agree with Bill, there is a tone difference. The tone difference between all hog and maple is very evident in the demos of the SE HB by Brian Ewald (among many other demos). In that particular instance, I preferred the sound of the hog version. With the 245 the difference is more subtle, but still evident.

Meh. But still a standard is the best bang for the buck.

There’s a little more crispness on the note and bloom with the regular SE245 that lends itself more toward the traditional LP camp. It depends on what you’re after. If you’re on a limited budget and don’t have an ear for one or the other yet, the 245 Standard is a fantastic buy. It’s so good that you could justify picking up a regular 245 later to cover both camps.
