2017 SE Custom 24 pickups

So there's probably no lack of thread content around this, but I'm wondering what people's thoughts are re upgrading pickups for my 'spare' Custom 24 SE (that's the charcoal one in my avatar).
Are the pickups available that go into the top US models?
If so, what would suit for top-notch cleans, blues and medium rock?
Cheers

Quick n dirty answer for my personal choices from experience:

PRS
59/09, could mix it up with 57/08 in the neck

Aftermarket
Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz could mix it up with a 59 in the neck

Boutique Winder
Wolfetone Marshallhead/DrV, or tell him the sound you are after.

Lots of other great choices, Fralin, Bare Knuckles, and whoever else but any of those above will get you where you want to be. I'm a believer in core electronics for the volume pot, switch, and jack while you are in there.

Thanks for that.
Sounding like some strong non-PRS options to consider there.
Looks like PRS sell the core electronics off-the-shelf.
Given the 3-way selector and two knobs with one with push-pull splitting for both pickups on the SECu24, how would that play out using potentially different configuration electronics? Do I need to stick to that format or can I move to individual splitting?

You're welcome.

For ease use the same configuration of electronics only higher quality on a few parts. You could also use mini toggles for splits but you'd have to drill holes. Another option would be a freeway switch. I've used the freeway blades and toggle in multiple configurations with good success.

In reality you could just start with swapping pickups. I'm just partial to the core volume taper and quality blade or toggle.

I usually agree with 99.9% of your recommendations very close to my tastes.
59/09 both positions
Duncan 59 neck, Pearly Gates bridge

If I went with 59/09s would that make for more useable coil splitting? I find the current 85/15s set-up is a bit weak when split in any pup selection. I'd especially like a split bridge to hold its own in the mix if I switch it in.
Or can this only be addressed with a change of maker. If so, are 3rd party humbuckers generally designed/wired for splitting?
