I’m considering swapping the pups in my 2009 se custom. I’m not entirely sure which pickups were stock in 2009 but I’m finding the neck pup a bit muddy for my liking.
I’m aiming mostly for doom/stoner rock/heavy type tones with plenty of gain but I would like versatility to play heavy blues as well. In other words turning the gain on the amp to the point of barely breaking up and going from there with volume adjustments on the guitar. The amp is an orange dark terror so I’m definately not worried about chimy cleans.
Which pickup combo would you suggest here? I’ve heard the Duncan customs might work for me but I know little to nothing about pickups.
