2004 Coming from Texas

Very cool and touching!

I have a 2005 McRosie that my girlfriend bought me six years ago.
She’s now my wife!
It’s the most cherished guitar I own.
Enjoy the wonderful memories every time you pick it up to play.
My wife purchased a 2000 McCarty for me as a gift back in 03 or so. Killer guitar badass wife.

Welcome back @Vinni Smith sorry for the passing of your friend and so glad for you that you have great memories, also linked to the guitar.

Stunning guitar and some thoughtful mods.

Hahahaha. I've been in that club for 22 years!!!!

Thanks.

Congratulations. In two years you get your “turtle” , ahem, I mean “owl” award.

I did replace the locking Klusons with the original ones.
John left them in the case.
I hate lockers.
Also, replaced the capassitor with and orange drop .01
I do that on all of my guitars.
Roll the tone all the way off and you get Money for Nothing - Tom Sholz - and the best Woman tone you have ever heard.
Oh and I replaced the strap locks with the originals. (also in the case).
I have banged my guitars once too many times with strap locks swinging on the strap.

Oh yeah!
It is going to see some gigs soon.
John would have wanted it played.
Not just hanging on a wall.
That is the whole point of owning a great instrument!

That is why it is in your hands: To be played. To hear her sing. Go play it!

Years ago, an older brother gifted a 1970s Martin steel string to someone I'd never heard of. Lead guitarist and singer for a cafe/ oldies/ forties band in Paris, singing and playing the classics from 70-80 years ago.

I kinda wanted that Martin, but it's in the hands of someone who's playing it every night to live audiences in France. What better use?

So: Go play it loud and often. That's the point.

=K
