Hey all.
I have not been on this forum for YEARS.
I hope you all have been doing well.

Been without PRS guitars for about 5 or 6 years now.

However, I have just inherited a 2004 McCarty Rosewood.
A dear, dear friend of mine passed a few years back.
He was the one that named my company.
He was the one that egged and cheered me on to success.
John Dean was his name.
We were together when he bought this guitar used in CALI.
He brought his wife home from the hospital one day, we hopped
in his SUV and drove 2 hours to get it.
Wifey was furious he did not stay home with her. LOL
Her and I laugh about it these days.

His widow has left his guitar room alone since he was gone.
I got a message from her that "Rosie" is on it's way to Nashville.
She is ready to release some of the past and wants me to have the guitar.

I don't have any pictures yet.
Should have some tomorrow.

This is the nicest PRS guitar I have ever shared the stage with.
He would bring it to my shows once in a while so he could hear me play it.
I was knocked out every time I played this guitar.

I am very honored to be the caretaker of this instrument now.
No mods will be done on it at all.
I remember it being perfect as it was and I am sure it still is.

I will post a bit more soon....

The grief will last forever, when the dear, dear friend passes away.
The guitar has a story and ties the living with the dead. The widow's decision to hand it over to you shows gratitude.
My best friend passed away this March. At the funeral his girlfried offered me his guitar gear, a PRS SE Mark Tremonti Custom was his guitar. He bought it, whilst we attended on a civillian EOD course at the end of 2013.

I'm curious, how your guitar looks, Vinni.

Such an honor to be the custodian of an axe with so much history! Treat her well and the spirit of John Dean will shine in every note!! Congrats and condolences (and odd combinations but relevant none the less)!!! Maybe you can call it D Light (as in delight but allso the light of Dean shining through) ;~))

I finally got a picture posted of it.

Should get the guitar by noon tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your friend, but glad you have such great memories (and now a guitar) to remember him by. It’s good that his wife wanted to connection to continue. Great stories do that.
