Im still on my quest for a blue singlecut, and I stumbled across the guitar in the link provided below.
I just wanted your guy's thoughts on this guitar given the condition it's in via the pictures that are provided in the link.
I've been watching this guitar for the past week, and even made an offer on the guitar, but the seller declined the offer. The seller then told me the next day that if I made the same offer again then he would accept it. Unfortunately about 30 minutes after I last talked to the seller, my girlfriend had a family emergency, so I decided to hold off on making the offer.
Since then, the price has went up, and the price has went down numerous times throughout the day for the past 5 days.

It's got a nice top, is probably great and I believe people like the #7 pickups quite a bit. Body will be closer to a Mccarty thickness - thicker than a custom 24.

From the erratic nature of the seller, reading the ad and what you've mentioned in the OP I'd probably avoid, I know it's cheap but that's just me. Or if you have an issue when you get the guitar I just get the feeling they'd shrug you off.

This one is more $$ but it's been up for a bit and I bet they'd bring the price down. Looks to be less beat up, is a 10 top and most of all it's got the Dragon I set installed. https://reverb.com/ca/item/65937503-prs-singlecut-10-top-royal-blue-w-prs-dragon-i-set

His reviews seem to be fine. He may be changing his asking price and adding some hype in his ad because he needs to sell sooner rather than later. As far as the condition of the guitar, all the damage seems supeficial. I always ask about fret wear because that's one thing that I can't fix.

I assume you've asked all the questions you had before making your original offer. If the offer is a price you're comfortable with, I say go for it.

Oh yeah! I own three "lawsuit era" Singlecut's, so I know all about the Singlecut's.

I've talked to the seller, and he's a very nice guy and his description seems to be very accurate with the pictures that are provided. When I made my offer, and he declined it, I explained to him, that if I was to purchase this guitar, it would be going to PTC to get, that chip in the rear of the headstock fixed, and to also get a refinish to fix all that wear and tear, and that, that alone is going to cost another$1,500.00.
He understood where I was coming from. Like I mentioned, their was a family emergency, so I had to postpone the purchase. Now that emergency is somewhat taken care of I'm considering buying the guitar. I'm just trying to decide if I want for $1,800.00

I also saw that one in Portugal that you sent me the link to. It's a very nice guitar, but if I was going to spend that cash, then I would shell out for a 2001 10 Top Whale Blue w/ a black back that I found.
It's puzzling enough to me that he has it listed as being in very good condition when it's in fair condition at best.
True dat!

Yeah I'm not questioning his integrity, he is very responsive, and his communication comes across as great! Just like I mentioned above, I offered $1,800, yet it would cost me another $1,500 to ship it to PTC to get that chip repaired, and fresh paint job.

Just be aware though that reverb often charges sales tax based on your local sales tax rate so if you offer 1800, he accepts and you go to pay, you'll notice the cost is higher than you expected because Reverb has added sales tax. This is a relatively new thing. They don't tell you this is the case when you go to make an offer.

If you got that refinished, it would be slick. It's got a gorgeous top. But is it worth it after all the cost you've incurred?

Thanks for that heads-up.

That's something that I thought about. I've already come to terms with the fact that if I buy the guitar and spend that $$$ for the repair and a refin, I'll never make that money back.

If I didn’t have a Singlecut I love, I’d be looking long and hard at that guitar. I have the #7’s in an SE Singlecut Trem, and it’s great with gain. Stupid question from me. Why refinish? I figure I’ll ding the guitar when I gig it, so I don’t really care if it’s got a little wear.

this one's rather sweet and available

The main reason I would want it refinished, is due to the fact, the finish that PRS used around that time is notorious for clouding if the finish has any dent's or chips in it.

All those Singlecut's you posted look nice, but honestly I'm kinda of a sucker for the original style of the Singlecut w/ the wraparound bridge. I found this 2001 10 Top, but they want $3k for it and refuse to budge on the price. The other issue is, is that it's in the U.K.

I've also been watching this 2009 SC245 on Reverb for the past 3 months, hoping that the seller will add the "make an offer" option to the listing. I really like the quilted top on the 245. The only problem with that one is, it would definitely need an extreme makeover, and it's located in British Columbia, Canada.

Every time you post that Whale Blue Singlecut I get a second of panic thinking that mine was stolen.:p:D
