I was doing a few acoustic tone comparison checks yesterday. While checking the tones I did a comparison with my 2009 LP Standard and my 2001 PRS Singlecut. I always thought my chambered Les Paul was a bit on the weighty side but hell, the Singlecut is a good piece heavier. Presumably the Singlecut isn't chambered or it's made out of lignum vitae?;)

2001 wouldn't be chambered at all. I believe PRS did some weight relieving in the mid 2000's after the Gibson SC lawsuit. I believe this was the same time they changed to the SC 245 and SC 250. To confuse things, I think they released some of the regular Singlecuts that were held in production because of the lawsuit at the same time.

2000 - 2004 were not weight relieved. 2006 - 2008 were. Newer models is unknown. If any of you send me your newer model I'll x-ray it for you! :)

I thought so.

I haven't got a decent scale to weight them with but I'll see if I can borrow one. There's no wonder the Singlecut rings forever :)
