does anyone know if changing the .022 cap to the .033 cap on the new models makes a difference? I just put 58/15lt in my 2000 Mccarty but didn’t change the cap value.

The higher the value tone cap, the wider frequency band will be sent to ground when turning the tone knob. garret is correct. You can mitigate that somewhat with a treble bleed mod to save the higher frequencies to your liking.

FWIW, I think the combination of 0.33 cap values and the LT pickups is the best I’ve ever used. Although, to be fair, haven’t tried the 0.22 with the LT’s either. But, the LT’s in the 594 have a great fundamental to them, and even with the tone knobs turned all the way down still have a lot of cut, so I don’t miss the extra highs with the bigger cap. Other guitars sometimes feel like they need all the highs they can get to avoid getting lost.
