Awesome!! Having a catalog sure does answer a lot of questions!
This thing must be some sort of Rat-Rod somebody put together?
At least it sounds killer!
The letter on all my p22 5310 sets end in N.
Interesting...The letter on all my p22 5310 sets end in N.
Not sure what the letter means. I'm thinking prs would be able to use that to identity 5708 or 5310 but to my knowledge they can't.
Has anyone seen a catalog listing the Holoflake colors?
I have a green one and have seen the blue, red, silver, gold and black.
I just have not seen enough old catalogs to see what colors were listed in color charts.
Definitely seems like a parts guitar. Unique and cool.I think it’s a refin with a SAS neck swap. That’s just my internet Colombo hot take.
None of that matters anyway as I’d still rate it as one of the most badass PRS I’ve seen in a minute.
Bangin’!
They switched to 5708s at the end of 2012. I don't know the exact date.Interesting...
When I queried PRS support with the serial number (2012) they said it would have 5708s, but not all 2012 do...
Yup, mine was late 2012They switched to 5708s at the end of 2012. I don't know the exact date.
Maybe a PTC refin? I noticed the same: looks like a very clean finish jobThat finish looks legit to me. If it is a refin, someone did a really good job on it. It doesn't have any paint in the pickup cavities.
The neck does seem a little suspect with the birds. I agree on that one.
As for the pickups, I am betting those are 57/08s. Did they ever make 53/10 pickups without covers? The set I have in my P22 are covered. Mine could be outside of the norm though since mine is an experience guitar.
Yeah, it looks well done from the pics. That finish looks legit to me. If it is a refin, someone did a really good job on it. It doesn't have any paint in the pickup cavities.
The missing sticker is definitely odd and could be an indicator of a refin. I have not seen a purple holoflake either but they have done a lot of one off colors over the years. That color would probably have sold well if they had made it.Yeah, it looks well done from the pics.
The missing modcat sticker and caked polishing compound in the bridge cavity is what makes me think it’s a refin (along with having never seen a purple holoflake before).
Why else would that sticker come half off like that if it wasn’t from tape?
Oh absolutely. Over the years I’ve learned to never say never when it comes to old CEs and their options. The missing sticker is definitely odd and could be an indicator of a refin. I have covered and uncovered 5310sThat finish looks legit to me. If it is a refin, someone did a really good job on it. It doesn't have any paint in the pickup cavities.

Does the uncovered version have squabbins or regular bobbins?I have covered and uncovered 5310s
