Dear all,

Although I’m not a PRS owner (…yet), I hope some folks here could help me out with the following.

A local guitar store offers a 1991 PRS Custom 24 Guitar Center Anniversary Custom, of which only 27 have been made.

The guitar has the following specs (confirmed after contact with PRS Customer Service)
  • Birdseye Maple top
  • Mahogany Back and neck
  • Rosewood fretboard
  • PRS tremolo bridge (1st gen)
  • HFS treble and vintage bass pickups
  • Volume + 5-way rotary
  • Sweet switch
  • Nickel hardware
  • Color is hard to describe, but I would mark it as “light orange”.
  • The guitar has some slight buckle rash on the back of the guitar, a few dents here and there, but nothing extreme. It’s 30 years old, so one could expect that when it has been played a lot. Frets still seem to have plenty of life in them.
The challenge is, I cannot find any other information about this instrument. Therefore, the value is hard to cross-reference. The store asks close to 3800 US $ for it. This may seem steep, but given it’s a limited edition, this might all be justified. I’m curious about opinions of the experts on this forum and how they would value the guitar.

Those are cool guitars. I used to have one. It believe it was signed on the headstock. Let me go check my photos...

[EDIT]Yup... signed on the headstock. Fretboard on mine was probably Brazilian. I believe it is worth their asking price if in good condition.

Sounds like it's in pretty good shape, for its age. The way you say "3800 US $" makes me wonder if you are located outside of the US? Asking because that could effect the price. Many times guitars are more expensive in other countries. If the guitar were in the States, I think that price is high. There is one on Reverb now, a 1991, but not a GC Anny, for $2,.500 listed in "very good" condition. Alternately, there are two listed for $3,400 and $3,995.

What's the link? :p

Seriously...we love pics around here, and if no pics, you might as well be looking at a Hello Kitty.

Yes, I'm located in Switzerland. That would have indeed contributed to a higher price when the guitar was bought and imported many years ago.

I cannot post a link yet, as I am a new user. But the next post I will be able to :).

That's looks great! Interesting to see it's quite different compared to the one I posted about. Do you know if each of these guitars were all different to one another in terms of finish or other specs?

I am not sure but seem to recall they were all the same except for the color.
