I had HFS in my ce24 but like you it was way too bright so it got a pair of 5708s, much better.

I recently put 5310s in an all hog body ce22 and they sound pretty dam good. I think I'm going to send it off for a setup though.

Agree - 53/10's in CU22 - awesome, been holding off putting a MannMade stoptail due to time and personal circumstances, next week though....

Well just got the CE24 back with 59/09 neck and 57/08 bridge, woot. Everything that I expected and more, really clear with a touch in the high mids with the alder body. The split tones are great as well, saying that either pick ups are the go in my book but might just pick the 59/09's for a full set in something.

Hi, I have had a 1989 custom 24 from new, I wanted to have some warmer fatter pickups, but may be problematic because of the wiring (sweet switch) would appreciate and suggestions

For warmer/ fatter, I'd try 59/09s or the \m/ Metal pickups.
