10 top not mentioned on hang tag

Hi all, looking to buy my first PRS and found a used one that speaks to me. It’s a 594 SC 10 top and a Wood Library Brazilian Rosewood board. It has all the case candy but the hang tag does not mention the 10 top or the wood library. Should I be concerned by that? Serials match, the 10 is there on the back of head stock. Does it happen that they omit things like that on hang tags? How can I verify it is a wood library guitar?

I have a guitar that does not have the 10 on the back of the headstock or on the hang tag. PRS Customer Service confirmed it is a ten top with the serial number. If you are concerned about resale value, I doubt you will have trouble getting a ten top price should you try to sell it. Especially if the top looks good.

Thanks guys, no modcat available from seller. It’s an online transaction so I am trying to be cautious. I emailed PRS with the serial asking for information a few days ago but no response so far. Just want to make sure that there is nothing suspicious with the guitar. Felt it was a little strange that nothing was mentioned on the hang tag regarding options. But it looks like that happens then.

The modcat is under the neck pickup, a sticker on the back of the hang tag, and if its still there a sticker on the outside side of the case. Ask him for a pic of the bar code looking thing. Does it look like a 10 top? My experience has been if it does in seller pics it will more so in person.

The fact that it has a Brazilian Board is evidence of wood library status - Wood Library guitars are guitars that use woods that are different from the 'core' spec so the Brazilian rosewood would fit that. It can still have all the same woods for eveything else but if it has a different wood for the fretboard, neck, body or top, its most likely a wood library (or better) spec order. If it has a 10 in the top corner, then its a 10top - nothing to worry about there.

It seems like a legit description to me - without actually seeing it. But the fact it has a different fretboard wood and has a 10 in the top corner, I would take that as a Wood Library 10 top...

No modcat on the case. There is a barcode sticker on the hang tag, under the form with the handwritten information, but it doesn’t have a modcat either. The guitar definitely looks the part, no doubt in my mind it looks like a 10 top. I guess me only surprise was that the hang tag doesn’t mention neither the 10 top or the wood library.

I don’t think wood library guitars have a regular MODCAT. The one I saw had WL with a number where the MODCAT would normally go.

Huge thanks for all the responses all! I called PRS and they were able to confirm the wood library, 10 top and all other specs! So I jumped on it, my first PRS is on its way! I played a number of these at GC but the S2 line. I slightly favored the DC but decided to pick a top that spoke to me most regardless of DC or SC. This one is a 2020 and I have heard they are consistently good, so hoping I mesh with it

I know its highly subjective but I have looked for a while and this top made my jaw drop.

PRS customer service has been really great to deal with. I asked some additional questions and it turns out this is a guitar that was built for the PRS 2020 Experience. I think they spec the guitars for Experience any way they want? This one has the artist package (or parts of it) as well. It has the veneered head stock with the inlaid signature and the abalone birds. But the top is marked as a top 10 so its not a full Artist series either I guess. They also list it as a custom color. It looks like a Black Gold burst wrap to me so not sure what makes the color custom. Will arrive later this week, exciting!
