Machine Learning" began with a clacking machine-sounding patch in Spectrasonics Omnisphere underlying the entire song. Next drums were added, followed by NS Chapman Stick, and various layers of guitars. Various synthesizers were used for harmonies and countermelodies and organ was added for some contrast.
I mostly used the DGT SE for this track. One rhythm track uses the Vela S2 Hollowbody. I ran most of the guitar tracks through various ToneX amps except for the guitar solo which used a strange stereo patch from Helix Native.
The vocal "solo" right before the end happened by chance. I accidentally added one measure of silence before the last section. Imagining a percussion part during the measure of silence, I sang the part instead and decided to expand the singing to four tracks. No one was injured during the recording (I think).
