I’m currently looking to buy a Swamp Ash Special, preferably with a stoptail bridge. I found a 97’ model for sale, everything looks great, but the pickups don’t look like McCartys. I messaged the seller to see if the pickups were original and if he could send a picture of the bridge pickup...

...besides the obvious semi-hollow and 5-way blade, what are the biggest tonal differences between the core Swamp Ash Special and Special 22? Mostly just curious as I am not currently in the market for another axe (and when I am, it will most likely be a CE24 or 408).

Got here this AM, all 8.6 pounds of charcoaly goodness. Played the straty-esque tones back to back withe my maple SE silver sky and they were pretty dang close. Buckers sound good as well. This looks like it will be very versatile and looking forward to trying it out in band setting on Wed...
