Apparently, I'm not! NGD... delivered this morning. I am finally the very proud owner of my first Core model - McCarty in Charcoal Burst. What a wonderful instrument! Very resonant, and the 58/15's are so smooth and "airy". No point in keeping the 2017 SE C22 - it won't get played again -...
Hi folks, I recently came in possession of a 1995 PRS McCarty, SN: 5214XX. On the back of the headstock written in gold is "McCarty Model". In the case is a second electronics cover signed by Mr McCarty and the number "11/100". That would lead me to believe that it was one of the first 100...

Got a new McCarty 594. Played the bejeezus out of the factory strings as I loathe waste. They had a great slinky feel.
Finally wore em out and replaced with Ernie Ball 10s, my go-to. The feel is markedly different. Not exactly stiffer, but I can't think of a better word for it.
For the...
Got my 594. It's my guitar. MINE. You can't have it!
I bought it to be my "The One." I have a few other electrics but I'm a serious instrumentalist and was sick of not playing my best due to constantly shifting between scale lengths and neck profiles. The 594 satisfies.
One thing I love...
Hello all. Looking for help in identifying this PRS. There are a couple of things that throw me off. I do not know for sure what year it is. Also it has a stop tail piece and push pull tone pot. Does that mean it is not a Custom 24? It has McCarty Bass and Treble Pickups. I do not know if those...
Hi all...I'm new to the forum.
I bought a '97 CE 24 trem (black) with HFS/VB pickups and the rotary switch a few months ago for $1000. It's my first PRS - I've played a bunch over the years, but they were all set necks (my buddy collects CUs and old standards) but I'm a bolt on guy. Anyway...
I've been spoiling myself the past couple weeks. In the process of moving so I'll post a true NGD once things get settled but I wanted to drop this little preview of my new toy*.
*Sergio would be proud of my photography skills.
ever since it first came out been dying for one of these
Finally found a great deal on a honey 10 top and splurged
Downside I'm posted overseas so can't play it till June
It's a new form among torture
It was the promise of this model that brought me to PRS in the first place but by the time I saw the light it was out the catalog.
I have an SEII instead which is superb, but I would love a Goldtop McCarty P90...
When my dealer and friend from Minsk (Belarus) visited me in Dnipro (Ukraine) we decided to make good reviews of both my 2010 PRS Private Stock SC245 and 2014 PRS Private Stock Singlecut McCarty.
Specifications of 2010 PRS Private Stock SC245:
Model: Singlecut 245
Neck wood: Korina...
I love the way my McCarty plays but I would really like to be able to have LP style controls.
Do you think concentric pots would totally ruin the look of my McCarty ('97) or is it a reasonable solution?
your input is appreciated,
Nick
Looking to buy my first PRS and trying to decide between a McCarty and a DGT. I am leaning towards the McCarty, but don’t have the opportunity to play either.
Would it be overly simplistic to say that a DGT is a McCarty with a tremolo and slightly hotter pickups (and separate volume controls...
Here it is! My third PRS, and first Private Stock. Absolutely blown away, I don't feel like I'll ever be as excited as this again in ordering a non-PS guitar. Choosing a flame maple neck was the best thing I could have done, I chose it because I like both the look and based on my favourite...
