clean tone

At the risk of making myself look like an idiot I'll ask the following question. I play a PRS S2 Custom 24 through a Blackstar HT Club 40 MKII. The clean channel on the amp isn't as clean as I would prefer. I know preamp tubes can be changed in tube amps that may help, but here is the question...
