archtop pickups

Hi all, I wonder if some one is able to help with some specifics of the McCarty Archtop pickups that used to come as standard in the Hollowbody II and Archtops guitars back in the late 90s/early 2000s. I have seen a few people mention that they were underwound versions of the McCarty pickups...

I know there's not too many of us out there that own the SC-J. I couldn't search SC-J 'cuz it was too short so please share threads you know of. I'm considering a pickup swap to liven up the tone a bit with more sparkle on top and a bit of drive. I don't want a super hot pup though, just more...
