I just saw this yesterday while looking for something else and really enjoyed it. The history lesson on amp wattage was very cool!
I love that the MT15 was the amp that was shown as the LOUD amp example too!
This is a great thread & I’ve learned a lot here.
X here & I hope everyone is still Rocking out on their PRS Amps!!!!
I’ve been going through a lot of new and different pickup selections for my different non-PRS guitars. #sorrynotsorry :D
I’m a fan of the Steve Stevens Bareknuckle Pickups & his “Rebel Yell” set. I love a Motor...
My 2019 New Years resolution was to let this thread die, but I’m 21-days in & don’t feel like starting a new thread.
Whatzzzz-Up PRS Boys?
1st off: My MT15 Stage rig is just killing it these days & I had a stellar gig with it this past Saturday (1/19/19) w/ my 90’s band Blender.
I just wanted to say Merry X-Mas to everyone here on the PRS forum & thanks for all the great amp talk this year!!!
Have a stellar Holiday with your family & Friends....Don’t drink and drive & make sure you watch the most emotional Christmas movie of all time.....Die Hard!!! :D
1st off congrats to you, this is truly a stellar amp as you now know. It’s not just a stellar amp due to the price either......I’ve had a lot of amps over the last 5-years & this is the top-2 for sure!!!
I want to thank you for having the balls to post your reply here too. It’s very cool of you...
I have 2 of these amps & while it’s not a silent amp or a low volume practice amp, it behaves in a way that all of my High Gain tube amps do. My MT15 amp(s) has a small amount of noise that’s now gone in my live rig set-up. There’s an entire thread w/ pictures & video too.
I run an Ebtech...
Thx again for your insights Brian & I do hear what you’re saying.
I will add that I feel that Tube amps in general point out my personal flaws as a guitar player & musician. I’m crazy good on an amp modeling device & that’s due to an endless amount of sustain & some Compression I believe.
Great info & while I have tried it out....I think I only did it for less volume.
I need to give the 1/2 Power Mode another shot, but crank the volume up & see how it reacts. I like what you say that you’re hearing in this mode with some power behind it!!!
This is very cool info & thanks for sharing it!
So even w/ EL 34’s, it’s still a very tight amp?
I love EL 34’s in general.....but have had no desire to change this amp at all yet.
The MT15 Thread that just wont DIE!!!!
Ok boys.....I had my 2nd gig now w/ the new band on Friday night. I’ve got some video & audio of the MT15 in action & it sounds awesome!!! This is only the stage mix (& on the bass players side), but it sounds great with headphones on.
Yea, I thought about that too & love the idea.
The gig was a blast & having great Tone was a huge part of that for me. My wireless unit went out on the very 1st song, but I had a guitar cable ready to go.
It was a packed house (only 150 people) & my entire family was there too. My wife 3-sons...
Well my 1st “Blender” gig is now done & in the books! It went VERY well for a multitude of reasons.......
The number one reason was the Tone from the MT15, the stage volume, the sound guys love of the amp tones & the reaction from friends, family & even a few strangers.
I didn’t have to max...
Ok....1st off, I think lowering the Gain & taking another listen to what’s happening is a great start. Maybe w/ the Gain at 11.2 you’ll still have the Gain you need & less of an issue.
I know for a fact that a noise Gate up front will eliminate a lot of what’s getting amplified by your Pickups...
