Three reasons why SE's beat all the other imports

I skimmed your post and wasn't even going to reply, but....really? really? You're going to cite a detail that is and always has been a part of the tonal recipe forever as a example of why i'm jacked up about the scarf joint/ Seriously? How about this....have a guitar made with a 10 piece neck...

Three reasons why SE's beat all the other imports

Well, I'm not going to debate this any longer because unless face to face it could go on forever trying to explain it in type. But all i need from you is to just answer my question. 2 guitars, both exactly the same except one has a SJ. Same price, everything. Which will you buy? Your answer will...

Three reasons why SE's beat all the other imports

I don't do myself a disservice at all. First of all, yes, i dismiss taylor because i don't like thier sound. I had one and the thing to my ear was more like a cheap plywood import. You hit it hard and they break up. I have a chinese import today that i would wager good money would sound better...

Three reasons why SE's beat all the other imports

Note that the current santana is a very different guitar that the first SE santana. Not sure which you played, but the one i have is new and it's anything BUT in the epiphone league. I know what epis are like having had several and even have one now that also doesn't compare to the santana at...

Three reasons why SE's beat all the other imports

You may be right, but for me PRS isn't about only the quality of thier imports, it's the PRS design, specifically the elements that make them sound and play the way they do. They're quite unique and the way they feel/play/sound is to me what makes them so desirable to me. The quality is just...

    Finally NGD!

Thats beautiful, as most PRS's are. That model is very unique tho. I find myself drawn to it but there are other PRS i have my sights on. That may change tho if i keep eyeballing these ! I gotta thing the lightness combined with a wraptail has gotta be a great sound. I need to see one in person.

Three reasons why SE's beat all the other imports

Well guys, we could debate whether a scarf joint matters, lengthwise, etc etc all day long. And I'm not saying you can't find a good sounding guitar that has one. But i WILL say this. All the mediocre guitars with tilt back head that i've had all had a scarf joint. But the point here is that...

Three reasons why SE's beat all the other imports

Some very expenisve guitars are also 3 piece. The point i'm making is that the splinted head is a very different thing in that theres a separation in the wood that separates the head from the neck. A lengthwise 3 piece is still allowing vibration to go from the body to the head purely thru wood...

Three reasons why SE's beat all the other imports

I know about the wings, but still thats not IMO the same thing. Were talking about a separate head piece which IMO, and it is just my opinion, but i don't think thats a good thing at all for tone. It separates the head from the neck with a bridge of glue. For one, i'm a huge believer thru...

Three reasons why SE's beat all the other imports

For me at least, these are big reasons why PRS imports slay epi and all the others. 1-Actual maple cap for tone. The others use veneer atop carved mahogany. SE uses veneer for only looks, as theres a real maple cap underneath for tonal reasons. 2-One piece neck. All the rest that have the...

    Carlos Santana PG Rig Rundown

I'm not exaggerating, but my santana with just the regular SE bridge literally stays so perfectly in tune even after dropping the arm as far as it'll go to the point that i cannot hear any changes in tuning ! I slotted the nut due to the slots being too high. But it's otherwise the stock nut and...

PRS CU with 3 humbuckers? Why not!

For many including myself, a middle pickup gets in the way of picking. A lot of people even have that issue on a strat which actually has much more free space between pickups than a 3 HB guitar. I believe thats why you don't see a lot of LP customs and other 3 HB guitars. You get all the...

Better Late Than Never NGD ~ Bernie Content

Beautiful. Been considering one myself once i find and land a SE EG. Trust me, that thing is far better then a fender AM standard even if they are apples and oranges. You made the right choice.

Trem set up Its leaning back instead of level. Fix?

First of all, note that unlike other 6 screw trems rthis one's screws have notches in them that the trem plate rides in just like a 2 point trem. Theres a major difference in how you set them up tho and it's very important. They mention this on PRS's support pages. The 6 screws MUST all be the...

    Is the string spacing....

Anyone swap a USA to a SE, and if so what were the results?

    Is the string spacing....

Thanks. How about the construction ? Do u know if they are they different as far as materials or are they the same bridge ?
  18. D

    Is the string spacing....

Thats the other 1/2 of th equation and i fully expect to do that IF the USA trem is wider and i can and do get one.

    Is the string spacing....

....on the USA trems vs the SE trems wider? I love the way my SE plays, and part of that is the wide neck. But i can't help wondering if it would be even better with wider string spacing because the SE E strings are both WAY inward of the fingerboard edge. I know fender generally uses less wide...

My only complaint with my 1st PRS

Yeah, they usually do settle. But when you buy PRS, you never really have to settle. :D Wow..... i think i'm becoming what them young whippersnappers today call a "fanboy" !
