How do you like your action?

1,5mm on all 6 strings, so factory spec, makes sense for the saddles relief too, a long time ago I used to have less than 1mm which made it very very easy to do legato runs, but alternate picking, sweep picking, arpeggios and fast rythm playing would suffer, because there's not enough tension on...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

The 10-46s on Eb are turning out to be pretty good for extreme metal galloping, downpicking, etc, since the action is higher too. Just to clarify, I didn't end up using white glue because it was too weak, but it was type that you can wash away with a wet cloth so no harm done, I used 3 tiny dots...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

Damn, the new nut has really helped, the tuning is MUCH more stable now and the trem is working fine, tone improved too on the fat powerchords since the slots a bit higher. I didn't expect that. Edit: also, infinite sustain lol

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

Thanks! Okay, I thought I was gonna piss off for good but today just for the sake of it I decided to change the nut since I had some spare new ones, gotta order some more now. Not gonna lie at first I was scared that younger me had super-glued the **** out of it but that wasn't the case...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

Okay then! ..final update, did some work on my guitar today, I checked the bridge for damage and there wasn't any, the high E is a bit worn but it was worse in my memory than it actually is, Aligned the screws again Set up the old claw, I hate to say it, but the other guy was...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

I had a golden era like that with this guitar too, where it would just do everything I want and never fall out of tune, and I would practice for hours and record every day without a single worry, that was when I installed the locking tuners and USA nut, and basically stuck to using 10-46. But...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

What is your goal here? Setting my frustrations aside with this guitar, I've still managed to play the hell out of it for years and record many hours of music with it. It has it's problems and I've got to fix them and it isn't always that easy, years ago I felt like the techs weren't really...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

Okay, let's get this from a different angle, since everything seems to be fine with my guitar, except the nut that's not been cut. What should be my expectations from this trem after let's say a deep divebomb? Usually when recording I get my guitar tuned as accurate to pitch as possible, I will...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

No, But some tuner poles without the strings, can wiggle a tiny bit in their place, I don't know if that's something I should be concerned about.

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

Hey man, !!!!! Not only did I remove the strings every time I made an adjustment, I removed the springs and everything else too. This is so obvious, hell even 4 years ago when I was 17 and the guitar had the stock bridge I still did not do that. The bridge has always been under 0 tension when...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

Okay, thanks, I do remember reading some info like that a long time ago on a different website, thank god if I mess up I have a bunch of PRS guitar nuts laying around here so I can try again, and those aren't so expensive and they are available in europe. I have never tried graphite lube, but I...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

Hmm maybe, what's strange is that this wasn't a problem with the SE bridge as far I remember, there's no way I'm buying from Stewmac because customs charged me almost 90€ for the 2000NOS which was a really small box, I've had my eye on the Ibanez nut filing kit for a while, I hope they still...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

I am, you live, you **** up, and you learn, if you did all of your set ups perfectly from day 1 then lucky you I guess. Every time I have taken a guitar to a tech, not a professional one since I don't have the money for that, they have left it with high action, or tuned it in a certain way or...

Trem not staying in tune when using the bar + PRS frustration talk :(

Boys and girls, welcome to chapter #9999 of my PRS (SE) guitar headaches, In this one, it's been months since I've installed the 2000NOS trem, now shortly after installing the bridge I Tremol-no'd it since I was recording and I appreciated the extra tuning stability since I'm...

PRS SE Tremonti Custom - Tremol-no Issues

Hey, so for recording porposes I'm blocking my 2000NOS Trem with a Tremol-no I bought a couple of months ago, it's the right one for the guitar, but the factory claw is smaller than the Tremol-no claw. The question is, do I have to drill a new hole? What problems would it cause to leave the...

SE Tremonti Custom - Neck Rattle

Yep, that did it, but now I have a bit of fret buzz on the first frets, loosened it up again but only half of the way I tightened it, trying to find a sweet spot, that seems to have done it

SE Tremonti Custom - Neck Rattle

I took it off, tried and it still rattles, the trussrod right now is something like 0,5mm off the 8th fret with the 1st and last frets pressed, I did it to compensate for the low action a bit, maybe I should straighten up the neck?

SE Tremonti Custom - Neck Rattle

Ladies and gentlemen, on this chapter of my PRS troubles, my guitar's neck rattles when I put heavier strings on it, I was using .10s and that works fine but when I try to tune lower, and so adding heavier strings, my neck rattles around the 9th fret area, I have .11s on it now, and I can...

Installed John Mann 2000NOS trem on my Tremonti SE Custom - did I do it right?

Thank you John! The thing with the uprooted trem for me was, like I said, I put a thin ruler to cover the extra space of the uprooted trem, to make it lay flat, and the installation went fine. Well I before did that, the problem was that the trem would lay there at the mercy of gravity and...
