I see on Reverb that you’ve decided to sell the SS. I’m really really tempted but I’ve spent way too much on guitars in the last 9 months that I shouldn’t. (At least that’s what I keep telling myself anyway.)
Blue definitely does not look good on a Gibson except maybe a Firebird. Fender has Daphne, Sonic Blue, and Taos Turquoise which all look pretty nice on a Stratocaster. I like Sherwood Green on a Strat too.
I'm happy to report that I've added two new (to me) members to my PRS stash.
First up is this 2013 dead mint CU 24 10 top in Makena Blue. The pickups are 57/08s. Very sweet guitar. I've been drooling over blue PRS guitar's lately.
Next is this Emerald 1995 CE 22 in player's condition...
I've never been known for having much patience :). Plus, I've never seen them for sale around my neck of the woods.
I've seen a few of them online and they're all priced at $225 or more and none have the shard D and G screw. I may go with the less expensive option at John Mann's
Here's just a quick update for anyone interested. I talked with John Mann this morning and he told me there are two options that will work for an older PRS with a shared D and G screw.
The first is the set that @shimmilou posted a link to...
I'm picking up a '95 CE on Sunday that has had its tuners replaced with Sperzels and I'd like to return the guitar to stock. Anybody know where I can buy some Phase I winged tuners with the shared D and G screw?
If I can't get those, will a set a Phase II tuners work in a pinch?
