    Amber pick up rings?

I want to swap out the pickup rings on my PRS hollow body to the same amber color as the lampshade knobs. Anybody know of an option? Also, the switch knob do not like the cream color.

Let's see those McCarty's (All variants)

Did a few modifications to my 594 semi-hollow. Had fun making the rear cover plates out of Gabon ebony. Really tricky to get them suckers exactly right, took a full day. Also made a pickup knob out of the same ebony, that was easier. Couldn't stop there so I ordered some Guilford pick up rings...

First modifications to my 594 semi-hollow

They are tapered. Be aware, he makes the bridge ring thinner than stock, but still works and looks awesome. Also, I drilled out the center hole a bit to recess the screws like stock. Available here: Guilford Ebony Tapered Pickup Ring set | John Mann's Guitar Vault | Reverb

So where are these "Dead Spots" I keep hearing about?

Funny I stumbled onto this thread. I was farting around yesterday for a couple of hours with a dead spot on my McCarty 594 DC semi on the G string at 11, 12, 13 fret. Truss rod is adjusted perfectly with feeler gauge, action is set at recommended height, PU are set at recommended height. So I...

Probably know what answer I'll get here, but Vela or Tele?

Something about PRS, (not Mary) I have a LP and a McCarty 594 DC and I have to say the LP sits in the stand a lot and just enjoys the sounds coming out of the 594. It just feels right, sounds right and plays right. And with the split PU's , I can get it sounding a lot like the single coil...

Bogstreet Axe cut are my new favorite, I have big, old, hands and was always dropping picks. The Bogstreet are very grippy, have not dropped one yet.

What/Who has helped you learning most!!

Time , lots of practice time. Pick it up whenever you are doing nothing else. Watching TV? Have that axe in your lap and be pickin'. Also jamming with friends.
