    Petrol

Didn’t read all the responses. But I’ve been wanting to get back to playing drums more. So I’ve been looking at the Roland td-27kv2 kit and the efnote ex3 kit.

    modding a CE24 to have 509 switching....

I’ll try and get some pics. How comfortable are you with wiring? Because it’s fairly easy to explain. You’ll need to use a super switch, the two switches for the pickups, and a two pole on-on switch for the middle position. You just need a two pole super switch. It’s cheaper and smaller than the...

    Private Stock 513 - thoughts?

And I can totally understand that. Everyone likes things differently. On the guitar I was talking about I have a 5 way blade and three toggle switches. The outer two switches are series/split/parallel for the humbuckers. And the middle toggle is the middle/neck+bridge switch. If I change...

    Private Stock 513 - thoughts?

I like a lot of your ideas. My thoughts on the switching are this. I sold my 513 because I didn’t like dealing with two blade switches. So I like what you’re doing there. But I personally would see if you could make the toggles for the humbuckers to separately do single/normal/hot for each...

    Zach Myers joins 594 Party

Fwiw imo the easiest way to measure scale length is just to double the measurement from the nut to the 12th. That way the offset at the bridge doesn’t throw a wrench in the measurement. And honestly I’m not sure they had to really change anything on the ZM other than change the fretboard. The...

    New discovery about P90 pickups...

I’d happily pay that for a soapbar in God condition. I’m assuming a guitar in that condition will instantly turn me into guitar hero. Kind of like the pick of destiny. Haha. Anyway, cool soapbar to Lew. I love soapbars. My first core prs that I stuck with, and still have, is a McCarty soapbar...

Amp Transparency. It Was Once A Thing. Is It Still?

Yeah I went from owning the millennium to the recto. I bought the millennium after playing one in a store and thinking the recto model sounded awesome. Well the other guy in the band just bought a recto. And volume wise I could keep up but it just didn’t cut the same. So I bought a recto. And it...

Amp Transparency. It Was Once A Thing. Is It Still?

My .02. Neutral and transparent should have the same meaning when it comes to guitar amps, but don't and can't. Neutral to me is fairly standardized. No coloration what so ever. Like plugging a guitar direct into console. That is essentially neutral. I say essentially because different consoles...

NGD (sorta) & Changing 58/15LT out for 58/15MT

FWIW this is the picture I'm talking about.

NGD (sorta) & Changing 58/15LT out for 58/15MT

Not sure why exactly there would be a difference. Looking at the pic that was posted, on that guitar they are swapping both the hot and ground connection. Which isn't how coil-splits are typically done. But as long as the switches operate like I would expect a mini toggle to operate, that's what...

    New discovery about P90 pickups...

I'm not sure, but at the very top of the page of this thread, there is an "unwatch" button for me. On threads where I haven't commented, in the same place is a "watch" button. Maybe that will do it?

    New discovery about P90 pickups...

Yeah this is basically what I was trying to say. Just done much better. This place is just like a bunch of cool guys hanging out. Shooting the breeze and enjoying being part of the PRS family. :)

    Post your RARE PRS stuff!

I don’t think it’s particularly rare. But I do have a McCarty soapbar with an irw neck. Whatever its status. I love it. I also have an artist package sc594 soapbar with a irw neck. Maybe even less rare. But also sooooo good.

    New discovery about P90 pickups...

Hey man fwiw threads here go sideways all the time. It’s nothing personal. It just happens. No one is trying to troll you. I don’t even post here that often. But when I do it’s for threads like this. I’m not even sure how long I’ve been a member here, but I recognize most of the posters here...

    SE 594!!!!!!!

That’s seems to be about when PRS really upped their SE pickup game. I too have an SE SS and love the pickups. I also have a SE Paul’s, that I bought because I have a set of pickups that need a guitar. Well they still need a guitar. I really like the SE Paul’s pickups a lot. And the demos of the...

    New PRS SE 594 models

Yeah I actually changed my order to a single cut. I’ve had both, and it really doesn’t make much difference to me. Right now the cores I have are single cuts. So I ordered a double cut to have one in my life again. Then I noticed Sweetwater had the singlecuts, in the color wanted (which imo is...

    New PRS SE 594 models

I was looking at John Mann’s site yesterday. His replacement vibrato bridges fit cores pre-2017. So that’s likely when they changed. And PRS normally does running changes. So if it’s a 2016 or 2017 model you’d have to find something to physically identify which one you have.

    New PRS SE 594 models

I’m not a trem guy, but I think they stopped using Mannmade bridges quite a while ago. Maybe even the “gen 2” was when they went away from them. Yep. Here’s a page that talks about it. Looks like 94-95 was the last years for the Mannmade bridge...

    New PRS SE 594 models

I think it’s part of the reason I like my se Paul’s so much. It has the brass inserts on the bridge. And mine also has a core nut with the brass powder infused. I def think having brass at those contact points make a difference.

    SE 594!!!!!!!

Oh I play my best guitars at home all the time. Im def not one to leave them just sitting around unused. I mostly record with them. But for live use, something less valuable, that still sounds great, is just a better idea. And if it’s a live venue that I know the guitar will be fairly safe...
